What it is
Kingdoms and Companies can turn chunks of their territory into Plots that citizens or other Companies can rent.
Renting a plot in someone else's town on Midnight Snack Survival is completely safe. When a leader creates a plot, the server saves a snapshot of the clean terrain before anyone builds on it. If you ever decide to move out, get evicted, or let your rent run out, the landlord never gets to keep your house or your items.
Instead, your entire build and every chest inside it are packed into your personal Plot Vault, and the plot in the world is restored to the original empty terrain. Whenever you rent another plot of the same size anywhere on the server, you can unpack your build from /plot vault in one click.
How to rent a plot
- Find an open plot by browsing the Plots For Rent tab in
/directoryor walking through a Kingdom until you see a plot for rent message above your hotbar. - Stand inside the plot and run
/plot infoto check its chunk size, rent price, and billing period. - Run
/plot rentto rent a residential plot with your personal balance, or/plot rent companyto lease a commercial Company plot using your Company Treasury.
While your lease is active, only you and the players you trust can build, break blocks, or open containers inside the plot. Even the founder of the Kingdom or Company cannot open your chests or break your blocks while you are renting it.
Roommates and auto-renew
Stand inside your rented plot to manage roommates or automatic rent payments.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/plot trust <player> |
Let a friend build and use chests on your plot |
/plot untrust <player> |
Remove a friend from your plot |
/plot autorenew true |
Automatically pay rent when the timer runs out |
/plot autorenew false |
Turn off automatic renewal |
Moving out and the 30-second freeze
Whenever a lease ends, whether you type /plot pack to move out, a leader runs /plot evict, or your rent expires, the server runs an automatic packing sequence to protect your items.
- Any players standing inside the plot are teleported out to the town's entrance portal or the edge of the plot.
- The plot freezes for 30 seconds. During those 30 seconds, nobody can break blocks, place blocks, or open chests inside the plot.
- If you had any Market Stalls on the plot, their remaining items are sent straight to your
/exchange claimmenu. - After the 30-second freeze finishes, every block, chest, barrel, shulker box, furnace, sign, armor stand, and item frame on your plot is saved into your Plot Vault, and the land is reset to clean terrain.
Unpacking your build in a new plot
Once you have a saved build in your vault, you can place it into any new plot that matches the same chunk dimensions. For example, a build packed from a 2x2 chunk plot can be unpacked into any other 2x2 chunk plot, and a 1x2 plot can even rotate to fit a 2x1 plot.
- Rent an empty plot of the same chunk size with
/plot rent. - Stand inside your new plot and run
/plot vault. - Click your saved build in the menu.
- Your whole structure and all of your chests and items are placed right back into the world.
Each saved snapshot can be unpacked once so items cannot be duplicated. If you pack the plot again later, a fresh snapshot is saved to your vault.
Creating plots as a Kingdom or Company leader
If your group has permission to manage plots in your Kingdom or Company, you can create plots ranging from 1x1 up to 3x3 chunks.
- Claim the chunks you want to use and make sure the terrain is clean before creating the plot.
- Stand in the north-west corner chunk (the chunk with the lowest X and lowest Z coordinates of the plot area).
- Run
/plot create <size> <price> <days>(for example,/plot create 1x1 5000 7to create a 1-chunk plot that costs $5,000 per 7 days). - If you want to create a commercial plot specifically for Companies to lease, add
COMPANY_PLOTat the end of the command.
